EducationJunior at the University of Maryland - Dual-Degree Program in Applied Mathematics and Economics
ExperienceAs a junior at the University of Maryland, I have challenged myself and focused my time in cementing a solid academic foundation. Tutoring not only requires that an instructor be knowledgeable in the respective subject area, but that they know how to communicate and work with people who excel in any discipline. That is why I am pursuing a dual degree program in Mathematics and Economics, but also took the opportunity to pursue an International Studies program, conduct research for the Department of Mechanical Engineering, join the Professional Business Fraternity Alpha Kappa Psi, and volunteer to give tours and host prospective students. I find that my experiences in the last two years have afforded me the opportunity to learn how to work with a diversity of people and groups. In addition, I have served as a private tutor and a Noyce Scholar tutor. During my times under both positions, not only did I provide instruction but also learning tools for students to become more independent and empowered. I understand how important it is for people to become more self-sufficient and I make sure, for those I help, that those are goals that I assist in achieving.
