I am a math grad student with 8 years of experience tutoring math and math SAT prep. I work hard to help my students grasp difficult math concepts, learn to think critically, and become self-confident. I have tutored 100+ students ranging from elementary schoolers to graduate students. It is not my goal to impress you with my own grades, test scores, and awards -- being an effective teacher takes much more than that. I do my best to understand a problem from a student's perspective and explain new topics in the context of concepts that they have already mastered. Being a tutor has been very rewarding. It is exciting to get a phone call from a student and hear how much they improved their SAT score, learn that a quiz went really well, or find out that they decided to major in math.
