Private tutor in College Park, MD
Education
2015 American University, Honors College, BA in International Studies. I completed all graduation requirements in only three year, participating in the 2014 graduation ceremony, and won the 2014 Graduating Class's "Outstanding Presentation in the Social Sciences" award for my capstone project, but then deferred official graduation for one year to accept the Boren Scholarship to study at Peking University for a year.
Experience
Passed HSK Level 5 Test ACT Score: 34 SAT Math: 740 SAT Reading: 710 SAT World History Subject Area Test: 800 (Perfect Score) 2014 Boren Scholarship Recipient 2014 Graduating Class "Outstanding Presentation in the Social Sciences" My greatest expertise lies in teaching Chinese to English-Speakers, and in teaching English to Chinese-speakers. I spent the last year in China on a scholarship with the government. While there, I tutored both children and college students, so I am accustomed to teaching kids. I am extremely skilled in the social sciences, having won my university's award for best social sciences project in 2014, on Southeast Asian trade policies. I am also fully proficient in teaching English and Math, scoring well over 700 on both in my SAT's, as well as a perfect 800 in World History. In high school, I tutored fellow students in all subject areas. In college, I tutored fellow students in Chinese, Economics, History, and Political Science. My scholarship obliges me to work for the government, but there is a lengthy process involved, which may take well over a year, so I am seeking employment for the next several months. I greatly enjoyed serving as a tutor in China, so I hope to be able to do the same here.
